faq's - ombré brows

What is Ombré Brow?

Ombré Brows, also known as Powder Brows or Shaded Brows, is a semi-permanent makeup technique where pigment is manually inserted into the top layers of the skin. This two-step process includes the initial insertion of pigment and a touch-up 6-8 weeks later. The technique creates a misty, powder-filled brow that mimics the look of makeup or a fresh eyebrow tint, differing from Microblading in its softer, more shaded appearance. While semi-permanent, Ombré Brows may fade over time without additional procedures.

What does Ombré Brow look like?

Ombré Brows are darker at the tails and gradually fade toward the front, creating a soft, gradient effect. The results are waterproof, smudge-proof, and typically last longer than Microblading, with an average lifespan of about 2 years. Full results are achieved after the touch-up application.

How long does Ombré Brow last?

  • Ombré Brows can last 1-3 years.
  • A touch-up is required 6-8 weeks after the initial appointment.
  • Clients opting for a softer look or lighter color may require additional touch-ups, especially if aftercare instructions are not followed.

Factors that may cause faster fading:

  • Tanning bed/sun exposure
  • Exfoliating treatments
  • Oily skin
  • Certain medical conditions

A yearly "Color Boost" is recommended to maintain the integrity of your brow color.

Does Ombré Brow hurt?

Pain varies by individual. Those who regularly wax or pluck their eyebrows often find the procedure painless, while others may experience some discomfort. A safe topical anesthetic is applied to ease any discomfort during the procedure.

What colors are available?

A wide range of colors is available to complement your skin tone and hair color. The selected shade will be custom-matched to your natural features. Our training with top experts ensures precise color theory application for the best results.

Is there a chance of infection?

Safety is our top priority. We adhere to strict infection control standards, using one-time-use sterile disposable needles that are always opened in front of each client.

Is semi-permanent makeup a tattoo?

Yes, semi-permanent makeup is a form of tattooing, where medical-grade pigments are inserted into the top layers of the skin. It’s safe and suitable for any facial area.

Prior to Ombré Brow

  • Bring your usual brow makeup and any photos of the desired look.
  • Ensure your health is in good condition; a medical history form will be required.
  • Avoid alcohol or caffeine 48 hours before your procedure.
  • Do not take blood thinners (e.g., Ibuprofen, Aspirin, Vitamin E) 1 week prior unless medically necessary; you may resume them immediately after the procedure.
  • Avoid scheduling during your menstrual cycle to reduce pain sensitivity.
  • No waxing, tanning, or tinting the brow area 3 days before your appointment.
  • Avoid anti-aging treatments like microdermabrasion, chemical peels, or laser treatments 2 weeks before your appointment.
  • No facial injections 1 month prior to the procedure.
  • On the day of your appointment, avoid caffeine and exercise, and wash your hair, as hot showers are not recommended post-procedure.

Ombré Brow Aftercare

  • It’s normal to experience some swelling and soreness, which will subside within a few days.
  • Avoid touching the healing area with your fingers to prevent infection.
  • Do not scratch, rub, or peel at the healing skin; allow it to flake off naturally.
  • Lightly rinse with water and gently pat dry.
  • Avoid makeup, facials, sweating, sun exposure, tanning, saunas, jacuzzis, and swimming until fully healed.
  • Do not immerse the brow area in water.
  • Avoid anti-aging products containing lactic or glycolic acids, as they can fade the pigment.
  • Use a sunblock on the treated area after healing to prevent future fading.

Failure to follow these instructions may result in pigment color loss.
Touch-up visits should be scheduled 6-8 weeks post-procedure. After 12 weeks, changes in color or thickness will incur additional costs.
